Job Description:

We are looking for a Manager for INTERNATIONAL BFE Supplier Readiness Team (all gender) for our Commercial Aircraft business, AIRBUS. You will join our PROCUREMENT DEPARTMENT, in the “End to End BFE Management” organisation ( PCC). This position is based in Toulouse, France, with a lot of travel.

You will be part of the international BFE Supplier Readiness team . We are based across 4 sites in Hamburg, Toulouse, Broughton and North Carolina USA, focussing on BFE suppliers across Europe and the USA.

You will report to the HO BFE Supplier Readiness , based in Hamburg.

Our purpose is to secure the sustainable, forward looking readiness of our suppliers for our customers’ BFE Developments.

We do this by establishing proximity with our suppliers, acting as an overall cross-Head-of-Version (x-HOV) Focal Point for BFE developments. We seek the forward steering of on-time / on-quality performance and risk of the developments (x-HoV and x-Program). In addition we build stronger supplier insight into our Customer Guidance, together with our Customer Guidance Expert.

This is a newly created team and role in 2024, , with the mission to de-risk BFE Developments acting on the critical path of aircraft deliveries. You will play an integral part in forming and delivering a new supplier-facing strategy. EXCITING !

Responsabilities :

Represent the entire Purchasing organization in front of the Programs, and represent the Programs in front of Purchasing.

Capture and deliver program procurement needs.

Consolidate the procurement action plan and deliverables, meeting milestones and delivering on time, at cost and quality of products and/or services provided as required.

Consolidate the dashboard to the program.

Your challenges:

  • To be accountable for Cabin BFE suppliers

You shall be accountable for a Cabin BFE supplier (1 or more) to ensure their forward looking readiness and maturity to deliver on the requirements of Airbus and its customers.

  • To focus and to support to multiple disciplines (Program, Engineering, Industrial and Supply Chain).
  • To be FLEX and team player, to negociate, to coordinate multifunctionnal teams :This will require working with all levels at the supplier, spending a significant time on site, whilst also coordinating activities of a multi-functional Airbus team.
  • To collaborate with key senior stakeholders in Airbus (Programs, Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Procurement Operations, Strategic Procurement) to ensure a complete view of the supplier situation and actions. Where required, you will also drive supplier transformation activities.
  • To assess/To support/ To De-risk

With your assessment and supplier insight, you will also support the influencing of our customers’ BFE selection to de-risk the complete aircraft development timeline.

  • Position Class. 15

Your boarding pass:

  • Experience in supplier management and development is a must to have.
  • A strong internal cabin network is an asset +++++

And also,

  • Excellent level of training in Engineering, Supply Chain, Purchasing or Logistics, Business , industrial management, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 to 10 years experience in Supply Chain, Purchasing or Logistics, or Business Management , industrial management, or Engineering with management responsabilities, within the world of aeronautic and the internal aircraft cabin is essential
  • Ability to lead teams, communicate effectively and influence internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to simplify complex and abstract information, and generate a strategic approach
  • Ability to drive change and transformation
  • Willingness to travel : frequent travel to supplier sites will be required (60% – 80% travel)
  • Business fluent English = essentila and unavoidable
