As part of a strong growth we are looking for talent to join the Engineering Architecture team. The architecture team is responsible for ensuring the highest level of design quality for both our B2C and B2B products, as well as helping the Product teams scope and build the next great features of our products.
The architecture team aims at building full stack expertise on Ledger products, and in this context we are looking at reinforcing our team with a future expert on our Ledger Live techno stack.
Ledger Live is the central software we deliver to our users to manage and track their cryptocurrency portfolio. It provides a bridge between their hardware wallet and the various blockchains to offer a unified experience. Ledger live is a Community Driven product with 1M+ monthly users.
This is a hands-on position and we expect our architects to be able to dig deep into the code and help engineering teams in their day to day issues.
Your mission
- The team you will be joining has the following missions:Support Product & Engineering on Discovery & Design of new product features
- Drive Tech Initiatives with Engineering to improve our stack, address tech debt and support good engineering practices
- Support engineering teams on critical topics by providing expertise and hands-on contribution to engineering squads
- Explore new, innovative domains with a focus on concrete Ledger applications
What we’re looking for:
- The responsibilities of an architect are mostly geared toward the engineering teams they support:Collaborate closely with engineering leads, product managers and delivery managers to ensure design on most important initiatives are properly done and of good quality
- Partner with product teams to define, develop and implement development requirements for new product features
- Help Engineering managers identify, tackle and prioritize most critical technical debt in our stackContribute hands on to the development activities of the squads being supported
- Become a Ledger solution expert to thoroughly understand all use-case scenarios, especially on areas identified in this job description
- An architect is also responsible for some transversal activities, including:
- Be involved in our open source projects and foster our developer community by contributing and maintaining key Open Source software, and helping build our platform strategy
- Help build visibility on the roadmap by contributing to gross estimates of implementation difficulty
- Help contribute to Ledger visibility by presenting in conferences or in front of customers our technology know-howT
- This open position is for an architect that will support the Ledger Live Hub team, as well as the eCommerce and Internal System team.
- The Live Hub team develops the front for the Live wallet application, on both desktop and mobile, while the eCommerce and IS team develops the Ledger web store and internal supply chain systems. This position is expected to grow into the lead of a small team of architects, and requires experience in managing very senior, very autonomous technical profiles.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in technical design, development, execution, testing and delivery
- Strong background/interest in algorithm development and optimization to work across our stack: from interaction with low level devices in binary, to work with blockchain technologies,..
- Knowledge of Typescript and JS (and other programming languages paradigms)
- Knowledge of UI and front design patterns
- Comfortable with multiple “app” development stacks: React native, Android, iOS
- Comfortable with web back end stacks: Node.js, PHP
- Curious to learn how blockchain works under the hood and investigate deeply complex systems
- Experience in leading small teams of senior and autonomous developers
- Ability to work effectively with internal teams to define scope, goals, project plans and deliverables
- Team player with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work cross-functionally
- Excellent presentation and written communication
- Engineering degree
Nice to have
- Open source experience or contributions
- Experience in Embedded Software development
- Experience on other Ledger Backend stacks and languages (Python, Scala and related frameworks)
- Functional programming, experience in GraphQL
- Knowledge of cryptography and security practices
