Job Description

We’re looking for a Senior Brand Designer to join our multi-disciplinary Creative Studio.

In this team you’ll share our mission of building a bold, distinctive brand identity. You will bring visual brand to life across the business, ensuring it is of a high standard and felt throughout the customer experience.

Most of your time will be spent creating commercially focused static assets for our B2C growth marketing and working on wider, more long-lasting projects that improve our ways of working and our brand world. This could be for example developing our design system further or defining design conventions that allow us to design in a more efficient way.

This role is part of Trainline’s Creative Studio and reports directly into the Lead Brand Designer, while working hand-in-hand with other key team members like copywriters, motion designers, the Senior Traffic Manager and the Creative Lead.

You will have considerable experience working with (and developing) brand guidelines, taking core brand elements to generate highly effective static assets in a variety of formats as per the demands of our main growth channels. Using type, layout and photography you’ll find the right combination to any given project.

You are also able to brainstorm with the rest of the team and come up with a creative concept/idea to lead your design executions. You work in a collaborative way and are a team player – you know creative excellence can’t be achieved alone.

With a strong background in digital marketing and an understanding of industry standards, you will have the confidence to suggest and test new ideas. Combining this knowledge with a passion for creating elegant design, you will continuously search for opportunities to improve outcomes.

Key responsibilities

  • Bring creative ideas to life – from creative concepting through to asset delivery, while sticking to our production processes and deadlines
  • Promote high standards of design through stakeholder management and processes
  • Increase the efficiency of creative delivery through innovative ways of working
  • Work with the content team to find innovative answers to briefs
  • Work with the Creative Studio Lead and the Lead Brand Designer to inform and develop Trainline’s creative brand direction
  • Where there is an opportunity, find areas to optimise assets through creative testing and experimentation, balancing the need for brand consistency with enhancing performance

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of experience and a strong portfolio of predominately digital design work
  • Proficiency on Figma
  • Highly skilled user of Adobe CC
  • Experience building and developing a visual brand and its guidelines
  • Previous experience designing for performance marketing channels (e.g.Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok, Display) and understanding of their best practices
  • Experienced at delivering creative solutions and assets for a variety of digital formats for paid and organic social, display advertising, CRM, landing pages, DOOH…
  • You are process-driven and know how to manage your own time against requests. You can give accurate delivery estimations.
  • Experienced in following creative and art direction guidelines
  • You have previously worked directly with marketing teams
  • Evidence of strong stakeholder management skills with a background in building productive working relationships across multiple teams
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and inspire others
  • You are fully comfortable in English, both written and spoken
