Salary: Up to £24,105.96 per annum
The University of Sheffield International College is seeking an academic tutor to teach in our Pre-Masters and International Foundation year in Social Science and/or Humanities modules. The post holder will be part of the College’s Social Science and Humanities Team.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The post holder will be responsible for teaching Level 3 and Level 6 modules within our Social Science and Humanities pathways, delivered to groups of international students. The role includes marking a variety of assessments and the provision of feedback to students.
The successful candidate will be competent in the use of IT skills related to teaching, including the use of VLEs.
The post holder will also act as a Module Coordinator. This involves leading the teaching team, carrying out Quality Assurance procedures, and ensuring that teaching materials are up to date. The role also requires the creation of both formative and summative assessments.
The successful candidate will be able to work flexibly as part of a busy team, contribute in meetings, communicate effectively with colleagues, and work to deadlines.
ABOUT YOU

A PhD or Master’s degree in a relevant subject is required to teach on the Pre-Masters programme.

Experience of teaching Social Science, Humanities or a related field, in UK Higher Education, Further Education, Sixth form or equivalent teaching experience

Experience of writing and marking assessments at a minimum of RQF level 3 (A-level/ Foundation level) or equivalent experience

Experience in module coordination or equivalent experience

Experience in identifying and implementing module enhancement needs and opportunities

Advanced ability to navigate Virtual Learning Environments

Strong competence in use of IT tools for teaching and administration
