Job Title: Procurement Specialist

In this role, you will take ownership of order management for a defined portfolio of suppliers, predominantly within Third Party. Responsibilities:

  • Raise and handle Purchase Orders for TP products, ensuring accuracy and timely confirmation in the Fisher system

  • Communicate and build relationships with allocated suppliers, serving as the primary point of contact

  • Meet departmental targets for turn-around times and delivery performances

  • Raise DI purchase orders within the ULS Stockboss system, following the VMI DI EU process

  • Investigate and resolve supplier queries regarding price, item details, transportation, and logistics

  • Complete daily/weekly reports and any other reporting measures requested by your line manager

  • Handle backorder reports for specific customers

  • Manage trade compliance and address import issues

  • Address issues related to transport, quality, quantity, and delivery address to find acceptable solutions for customers and Thermo Fisher Scientific

  • Embrace and participate in PPI initiatives to identify improvements and cost savings

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Equivalent experience or a Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant subject area

  • Customer service or supplier negotiation experience

  • Strong technical skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, and Cognos

  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and demonstrate flexibility with priorities

  • Effective interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate progress and deadlines to management

  • Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively within a team

  • Ability to learn new technologies and self-train when appropriate

  • Excellent negotiation skills

  • Proven social skills, ability to multitask, and attention-to-detail

  • Maintain a detailed understanding of local processes and procedures vital to complete the role

  • Bilingualism (Spanish and English) depending on countries supported
