The European Sourcing Operations (ESO) team, based in Paris, has been in place since January 2022. Its main purpose is to define, propose, and implement an industrial strategy to support the growth and expansion of Tiffany & Co.’s High Jewelry (HJ) and Fine Jewelry (FJ) business. This involves close collaboration with the teams based in the United States to strengthen, optimize, and develop European manufacturing capacity (subcontracting and partnerships).
We are seeking an Intern – Industrial Project Engineer to contribute to defining and implementing industrial approaches and providing logistical, system, and process support. You have a rare and exciting opportunity to join an entrepreneurial team in creation with high expectations and contribute to the team’s fast development.
Key Accountabilities
Contribute to define & implement industrial approach:
- Process Definition Support: contribute to define and document industrialization process for existing products
- Project Management Participation: support the orchestration of industrial projects with project managers, engage in multidisciplinary teams around product manufacturing methods, and document progress
- Continuous Improvement Contribution: evaluating and suggesting upgrades to practices to maintain high production standards and offer input during review sessions for potential enhancements
- Continuing component project: implementation of component BOM and supply chain mapping
Logistic support:
- Assist ESO team with administrative and logistic process to ship internationally Fine & High Jewelry pieces during development or production stages (courier, shipping, freight)
- Develop and maintain tools and process to follow stones, samples, prototypes and finished good flows
- Support suppliers on shipments steps: documentations, carriers, customs
- Support local logistic team to optimize the new European distribution platform with EU jewelry suppliers
System and process support:
- Develop and maintain process documentation and manage implementation in support of the team
- Set up data in ERP to launch development project and insure master data updates in JDE (final sign-off and branchplant)
- Make first analyses on Product Price Variances (PPV) for sourcing team: collect primary info and make some checks to facilitate their decision making
- Structure and handle the precious material monitoring, tracking & reconciliation of ESO inventory (ERP, documentation, side files)
Required Qualifications
- Final year of an Engineering/master’s degree
- Proficiency in PC applications – Microsoft Office (Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint)
- Strong project management skills
- Fluent in English, and the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management and staff (verbal and written)
- Independent, self-starter, ability to work well in a fast-paced environment with a multifunctional and multicultural team
- Ability to be flexible and manage changing priorities; must have a strong sense of time management
