Position Overview
This role of in-house lawyer closely partnering with the business will primarily support the operations of IQVIA France and will require advising local and international colleagues on a variety of contractual and legal matters (IP, privacy, liability, commercial terms, ethics, confidentiality…) in both French and English.
Key Responsibilities
Contract Drafting, Review, and Negotiation
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of customer and vendor contracts for consulting, clinical research and Real World studies, data supply, and software services in the pharma/lifescience industry. May include template drafting.
- Ensure that all contracts:
- Comply with relevant legal and regulatory requirements especially those surrounding personal data.
- Protect the company’s interests and are negotiated smoothly with our clients and other partners.
- Align with corporate position (i.e., with global framework agreements and negotiations)
Legal Advisory:
- Provide expert legal advice to local and international colleagues on contractual and legal matters, (e.g. engagement of French healthcare professionals, warranties, disputes…).
- Guide colleagues from various departments (sales, delivery/operations, procurement…) through the contractualization process.
Process Orientation and Training:
- May include development of memos, newsletters and training sessions for colleagues to enhance their understanding of legal processes and contractual obligations.
- Streamline contract negotiation processes to improve efficiency and reduce turnaround times.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Work, in a confidential and collaborative manner with other stakeholders, including subject matter experts, external law firms, Data Protection Officer (DPO), compliance officers, finance teams etc.
- Foster strong relationships with internal and external partners to resolve legal issues effectively.
- Monitor certain legal team projects.
Agile Working:
- Embrace an agile working approach to adapt to the fast-paced environment and evolving business needs, regulatory or even clients’ requirements, and IT tools.
- Implement innovative solutions to streamline legal processes and enhance overall efficiency.
Qualifications
- Attorney with a minimum of 5 years of general corporate law.
- Previous experience involving a legal sub-specialty such as licensing and intellectual property, data privacy, mergers and acquisitions, contracts, civil litigation, employment, etc.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills, creative and pragmatic problem-solving skills, business acumen and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
