Our Engineering Manager will develop and execute Operational strategy to drive growth and financial results for the Asset Advisory, EMEA, teams while ensuring customer satisfaction within a highly matrixed organization.

You will be responsible for P/L activities, budget development, leading & driving initiatives, marketing campaigns, development of tools, and driving process efficiencies to grow business segments.

You will assure the Asset Advisory teams meets overall financial targets (revenue, profit, enterprise value, etc.) while ensuring quality and customer satisfaction.

You bring a deep knowledge of the strategies and needs of the customer and competition in order to provide the right services, and understand what capabilities are needed within the organization to build and to successfully align resources. You are responsible for identifying opportunities to grow the business by working with customers to understand the market and identify new ways to generate profitable revenue by supporting new and innovative products and encouraging the team to do the same.

You are responsible for leading a high-performance culture by managing the performance, development, and engagement of team members and assuring the team is aligned with the overall strategy of C&I and the Enterprise. You are responsible for leading and collaborating with multi-functional teams to drive initiatives to provide broader service offerings. Partners with Sales, Bus Development, and other functions to achieve financial goals, and growth, understand areas of development, and process improvements.

  • Develop, execute, and implement operational strategy to drive organic/inorganic growth and profitability while ensuring customer satisfaction through a deep understanding of the customer and market intelligence.

  • Co-lead EMEA Wind Advisory when required.

  • Run France wind advisory P&L and strategy in collaboration with the other service lines.

  • Be responsible for P&L activities and budget development, with the understanding that some industries/segments are still evolving to this model. Manage annual, quarterly, monthly, and weekly budget breakdowns ensuring financial targets (revenue, profit, enterprise value, etc.) are met. Be responsible for managing costs within assigned budgets. Be responsible for reporting and forecasting, workflow overviews, and providing input into growth targets for customers. Closely monitor and manage revenue from engineering activities, including unbilled, aging, and inactive projects, work on hand analysis to ensure balance of demand and throughput.

  • Drive and lead initiatives to identify new and/or additional business opportunities. Anticipate customer needs by creating strong partnerships with Sales and Business Development. Provide proactive solutions for new business opportunities to secure revenue, profit margin, market share, and customer satisfaction. Build customer intimacy and establishes strong relationships through customer visits, analyzing business data and market trends. Participate in client seminars, conferences, and trade shows.

  • Implement and execute capacity and capability strategies. Review project status, and project management, ensures operational delivery, and closes any gaps. Successfully translate customer needs into an operational plan to fulfill projects with the right resources (availability, skillset).

  • Drive a high-performing team by managing the performance and development of team members. Operate effectively in the UL matrix to actively support and drive high-performance culture changes, transformation efforts, and people engagement. Hold team and self-accountable for results, define accountabilities, and establish performance objectives and metrics to execute strategy. Develop and coach by providing, training, career counseling, feedback, and guidance to drive high performance and morale. Ensure understanding of and compliance with all established policies and requirements.

  • Communicate and exemplify UL’s Vision and Mission. Lead, promote, and embrace change for self and team. Collaborate and build trust within the organization and with customers to meet or exceed their expectations. Develop strong, flexible cross-functional networks and global relationships to promote becoming the fastest, highest quality, and most customer-friendly organization. Coach and mentor employees to do the same.

  • Represent Renewables Advisory business in France for ULS’ other divisions’ strategy meetings. Attend conferences, and client meetings in line with the Asset Advisory Service Line and France renewables business growth plans.

  • Master of Science degree in a quantitative field (Physical Science, Engineering, Data Science or Statistics, Renewable Energy) from an accredited University or Engineering School 6 to 10 years’ experience in the wind energy sector in the European or EMEA market

  • Prior experience leading teams, ideally globally

  • Ability to promote services to technical and commercial decision makers, owners, operators, lenders as well as to investors.

  • Strong customer focus and strong interpersonal skills to establish trustful relationships, ability to sell and to close orders.

  • Prior experience working in a matrix organization.

  • Excellent communication skills in English and French or Spanish

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PPT)

  • Excellent report writing and presentation skills.

  • Detail oriented.

  • Strong team spirit and proactive attitude

  • Ability to work under deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Knowledge in solar would be appreciated.

  • Significant business travel and work outside of the office is required.
