We collaborate with colleagues in every single other function to do what HEINEKEN does best: brew the highest quality, premium beers, and ciders.Location: CorkJob Grade: 15Purpose of the Job:The Plant Engineer ensures the reliability and availability of production and utilities equipment by embedding a proactive approach to asset management and integrating planned maintenance routines into the PEMAC. This role encompasses both reactive maintenance responsibilities, including analysis of breakdowns and failure modes, and proactive tasks in Continuous Improvement (CI), Managing Change (MOC), Process safety & HEI-Quest Safety management and ensuring compliance with food safety and quality standards.While ensuring the compliance with notified Body to undertake Product Certification & Quality Management Systems is maintained with all actions planned and closed out in a timely mannerAdditionally, the role drives root cause analysis, implements new initiatives, and ensures alignment with operations excellence to improve production line/process efficiency.Key Responsibilities:Process safety & HEI-Quest SafetyIdentify and address safety issues covered in HEI- quest in maintenance and production areas.All actions planned and completed to agreed timelinesMaintain the standards once they have need achievedCheck and act on completed actionReview during HEI-Quest audits and close out findingsCompliance with notified Body to undertake Product Certification & Quality Management SystemsIdentify and address safety issues production areas related to complianceWork closely with Irish engineering service and manage the relationshipSchedule and plan in all testing in a timely manner with IES and productionE-report system updatedFollow up and close out actions from finds of defect and observationsSafety, Food Safety & SustainabilityIdentify and address safety issues in maintenance and production areas.Translate food safety and legal maintenance tasks into actionable plans.Ensure compliance with food safety and environmental standards during maintenance activities.Quality of Process & ProductConduct asset condition assessments and identify process improvement opportunities.Support quality-related tasks in operations (Step 5 AM) and manage quality inspection points (Q-points).Analyze quality deviations and lead corrective actions on the production line.Manage process, product, or material changes effectively.TPM & Continuous ImprovementLead the CI program, driving training, coaching, and improvements.Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and FMECA to drive CI actions.Lead modifications, good practices, and CAPEX projects in production.Support Kaizens and process optimization efforts.Process ManagementPropose and implement technical improvements to enhance reliability and reduce downtime.Provide actionable insights for improving machine functionality and technical processes.Drive solutions that enhance overall equipment efficiency (OEE).Hub Interaction & Cross-Functional CollaborationCollaborate with the Ops Excellence HUB to drive CI initiatives and ensure alignment with company strategies.Interface with the Reliability Engineer and other stakeholders to integrate reactive and proactive maintenance efforts.Knowledge & Experience:Bachelor’s degree in engineering, maintenance, or a related field.5+ years of experience in maintenance engineering, including team leadership.Strong technical expertise in maintenance, asset management, and process engineering in FMCG or food production environments.Proficient in RCM, FMECA, TPM, and CI methodologies (Kaizen, RCFA, etc.).Functional Competencies:Proficient in EAM/CMMS systems for KPI tracking, work order management, and asset monitoring.Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, and plan and control work progress.Strong facilitation, training, and coaching skills for team leadership.Ability to make quick decisions to resolve maintenance issues and restore operations.Personal Attributes:Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.Ability to work under pressure and in complex situations.Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.Proactive in identifying and driving improvements.Benefits:Very competitive package with annual bonus opportunitiesCareer progression opportunities with coaching and mentoring programs, including Company further education schemePension plan and Company share schemeOn-site car parking, on-site subsidised canteen facilities and Beer allowanceAdditional service days (annual leave)“Embracing and celebrating diversity is core to HEINEKEN’s purpose of “brewing the joy of true togetherness to inspire a better world”.
