We are looking for a Project Specialist for the Social and Humanitarian Area. The role will be specific dedicated to Global Health Programmes team.With the Novo Nordisk Foundation’s 2030 Strategy, the Foundation is committed to fight global inequities in health. One of the major initiatives contributing to the strategy is The Partnership for Education of Health Professionals (PEP) serving as a flagship programme in the health equity agenda by strengthening institutional capacity for improved education of health professionals, with a focus on strengthening the prevention of and care for cardiometabolic diseases (CMDs).Through the Partnership for Education of Health Professionals (PEP), the Novo Nordisk Foundation works with partners in India and East Africa to strengthen the capacity of educational institutions for health professionals with a focus on nurses and promote opportunities for women in the health workforce. The aim is to equip nurses and other health professionals, to provide quality prevention of and care for cardiometabolic diseases in response to the needs of people living in vulnerable positions in India and East Africa.A granting frame of DKK 1 billion has been allocated to the PEP programme in India and East Africa for the period 2023-2030.The job
As Project Specialist your key tasks will be:

  • Coordinate and contribute to development, initiation, and implementation of Global Health Projects including PEP in close collaboration with other Global Health team members and PEP partners.
  • Provide support to the strategic development of PEP globally, the day-to-day operations, and follow-up activities including impact measurement, reporting, and communication.
  • Gather data and undertake analyses to inform program and project development
  • Prepare and organize meetings and missions to East Africa and India.
  • Contribute with input and sparring on global health issues across the entire Social and Humanitarian Area
  • Support team coordination, planning, and presentations

You will be part of a team of 25 colleagues working within the Social and Humanitarian Programme Area and report to the Director of Global Health Programmes. You will be based at the Novo Nordisk Foundation headquarters in Copenhagen; however, frequent travel will be required as part of the jobs including to the two NNF branch offices in India and KenyaProfessional and personal qualifications
We are looking for a project specialist highly motivated to contribute to global health challenges trough the PEP programme. You have a Master’s degree in public health, global health, education science, social sciences, development studies, or another relevant field. Preferably you also have a few years relevant experience contributing to large-scale education programmes or global health programmes in LMICs for international organisations (UN, World Bank), philanthropic foundations, consultancy firms, research institutions or universities, or NGO’s.We imagine you have:

  • Relevant knowledge within the field of global health
  • Project management, coordination and planning skills.
  • Excellent communication skills in Danish and English both in writing and oral.
  • High level of IT skills within Microsoft Office
  • Fluent in English language oral and written
