The at at Aarhus University, in collaboration with the (SDCA), invites applicants for one position as post doc for a full-time position for 2 years with start March 1st 2025 or as soon as possible thereafter.At the Department of Clinical Medicine, you will be part of what is probably the largest health science research department in Denmark. Our clinical research covers all the medical specialties and takes place in close collaboration with the university hospital and the regional hospitals in the Central Denmark Region. At the department we are approximately 425 academic employees and the same number of PhD students cooperating across disciplines.SDCA is a center that brings together researchers and clinicians in an aim to better integrate work on multiple aspects of diabetes treatment, research, and education.We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoc to explore mechanisms within immunometabolism and development of diabetic complications primarily related to fibrosis. The project will include elucidating the role and regulation of Fibroblast activation protein (FAP) in different fibrotic conditions and identifying potential inhibitors. Findings from the cellular level are translated into clinical relevance via analysis of human tissue biopsies from individuals in the risk of fibrosis.Your job responsibilities As a Postdoc in our lab, you will be part of a well-established and collaborative research environment at Department of Clinical Medicine and Steno Diabetes Center Aarhus. Our lab is physically located at Steno Diabetes Center Aarhus (SDCA), Aarhus University Hospital. Your position is primarily research-based but may also involve supervision and teaching assignments.Your main tasks will consist of:

You will report to associate professor Mette BjerreYour competencies You have academic qualifications at PhD level within the field of immunology and/or diabetes.Extensive laboratory experience within enzyme activity and protein analysis will be an advance.Experience in handling and analyzing tissue biopsies and blood samples will be an advance.Experience in data-analysis and statistics.Fluent in oral and written English.As a person you are dedicated, enthusiastic, team-oriented and have a collaborative attitude.Contact information

. * The yearly base salary for a fulltime postdoc is between DKK 484.214,84 and DKK 538.720,20 depending on the years of working experience after achieved MSc degree. Authorisation supplemement(s) will be granted, if relevant for the position. Your local eligible trade union representative at Aarhus University negotiates your salary on your behalf.
