About usThe Information Services Division (ISD), comprising 280 staff, exists to support and enhance learning, teaching, research and associated administrative processes at UCL, and to contribute to the development of UCL policy in these areas.ISD provides a wide range of information and technology related services to the University these are divided between three main areas of activity: i) shared services groups ii) customer facing groups and, finally, iii) two groups focused on delivering world class IT support for Research and for Teaching & Learning.About the roleThe Delivery Support Team assists with the support, coaching and enablement of agile teams and workstreams, typically to assist with the delivery of a specific product (service) or transformation via a multi-disciplinary, highly skilled team.The Delivery Support Officer provides services to delivery in three primary models:

  • By supporting Domain Delivery Managers with the facilitation and running of the Domain
  • By supporting an Agile Delivery Manager or Project Manager with the delivery of large, complex initiatives or products
  • By carrying out aspects of the Agile Delivery Manager or Scrum Master role for small established teams or work streams

From time to time, the Delivery Support team may also offer support to the other members of the broader ISD group. The post holder may also be required to provide cover for other members of the Delivery Support team.About youEssential experience / skills:

  • Supporting delivery of projects or products within a framework
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and prioritising workload
  • Ability to report on progress and managing financial data
  • Understanding the facilitation and organisation of multi-disciplinary teams
  • Able to coordinate and manage a range of simultaneous tasks
  • Meticulous degree of accuracy & attention to detail
  • Computer literate with strong skills and knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of applications and the Windows operating system
  • Excellent planning, organisation, & problem solving
  • Strong interpersonal skills to develop effective working relationships and ability to work independently and as a proactive team member
  • Ability to work independently and use own initiative where appropriate; and to know when to refer decisions upwards

Desirable:

  • Industry recognised qualification in agile delivery or project management (CSM, SAFe, PRINCE2, APMP)
  • An understanding of the general principles of information technology
  • Have an awareness of current technology trends and emerging developments impacting Higher Education
  • Knowledge of online collaborative tools & Kanban software (eg. MS Teams, Miro, Jira, Trello)
