This can include applications and platforms like SAP ABAP / JAVA Application Server, Business Objects, BRIM Convergent Charging / Convergent Mediation, Opentext, SAP Cloud Connector, HANA XSA and others.The Role:You will plan and drive various projects to optimize how ECS operates the various SAP solutions. With a team of technical experts you will increase the efficiency and quality of Cloud operations for some of our Netweaver and Non-Netweaver applications. Our partners and mass service teams will rely on your guidance for a variety of product related issues requiring advanced troubleshooting. By collaborating with Product Development, you will also drive standards e.g. regarding configuration, parameters and performance.You support a continuous release governance and follow up on end of maintenance events of deployed software version.For operations cases causing severe customer issues you will also contribute to Problem Management and Root Cause Analysis activities. You will also focus on designing and conducting knowledge transfer to the global Operations community and create technical documentation, incl. technical operational concepts, process flows and guidelines.What you bring:

  • Cloud Mindset and previous work experience in a team running SAP technology based systems on a large scale – Experience in ITIL and IT Service Management processes such as Incident Management, Monitoring, Change Requests. Experience in creating and analyzing Root Cause Analysis (RCA) reports
  • Deep understanding of the SAP application technology both on Operation system level as well as inside the SAP system. Including system architecture, software updates/upgrades, performance optimization, system configuration, user management, monitoring etc.
  • Creating and reviewing technical concepts, being able to summarize technical concepts for wider audiences. Experience in creating decision proposals as well as technical concepts, such as Knowledge Base Articles, Wiki pages, BLOG entries etc
  • Project Management and Product Owner experience preferably in SCRUM based environments.
  • Communication with customers on technical and operations topics, ability to handle escalated customer cases.

You should have very good analytical and solution-oriented thinking as well as very good communication, presentation and networking skills. Working effectively in international and virtual teams should be something you are used to do. This position also requires you to communicate fluently both in English and German language.About the team / Brand / Line of Business:Within the Product Engineering board area, the mission of the Enterprise Cloud Services (ECS) Delivery organization is to run and operate SAP’s private cloud offering. Isolated private cloud landscapes are built for customers both in SAP owned datacenter as well as on IaaS infrastructure provided by hyperscalers like Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform or Amazon Web Services (AWS). ECS delivered services include backups, patching, provisioning and upgrades, restore and disaster recovery, monitoring and event detection. Services are delivered from all regions (EMEA/MEE/AMER/APJ) having a strong international focus and cultural diversity.As part of ECS Delivery, the Application Technical Area is supporting our operational teams to reduce outages and operational effort as well as to increase customer satisfaction.
