The Media Relations Manager (Global) will develop effective global media plans, projects, and campaigns to support select practices and sectors’ external profile-raising efforts, working closely and collaboratively with the Firm’s Director of Global Media Relations, Global Media Relations team, and in-market communications colleagues.Responsibilities:

  • Strategy and planning: Develop and implement practice- and sector-focused global media plans, projects and campaigns
  • Proactively identify commentary topics and industry trends to reach out to journalists to secure interview opportunities and media coverage, and place byline articles in legal, business and trade publications
  • Track and analyze media coverage against agreed KPIs; report performance and learnings
  • Identify, coach and promote key spokespeople for select practices and sectors
  • Support with cross-functional Media Relations projects and thought leadership campaigns

Copywriting: * Write and edit compelling press releases, matter announcements, bylines, media pitches and other copy

  • Repurpose and reposition thought leadership content for media engagement purposes

Stakeholder engagement: * Develop and maintain strong relationships with key journalists and publications

  • Support internal stakeholders with their interview needs, including interview preparation and media briefings, as well as sitting on interviews, following up where appropriate
  • Demonstrate strong influencing skills during all interactions with stakeholders and colleagues, and develop deep and lasting relationships across the BDMC function and directly with partners and lawyers
  • Support media training program for relevant spokespeople

Skills and Experience:

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Significant professional experience in media relations or communications, ideally in a law firm/within professional services

Strong analytical skills * Detail-oriented, including excellent proof-reading skills

  • Strong time-management skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Able to develop strong internal and external relationships including the ability to work effectively with people at all levels
  • Able to prioritize responsibilities
  • Excellent judgment
