Want to be a part of something big?ABOUT THE ROLE & TEAM:As the Lead Software Developer, reporting to the delivery lead, you will be part of a team that works on SmartPath™, more specifically our SmartPath biometrics team.At airports across the world, SITA provides self-service and agent-assisted passenger processing solutions at every step of the journey from check-in to boarding. With self-service devices to help airports facilitate the need for easy flow management, SmartPath™, with just a quick scan of the face, allows passengers to easily validate their identity along the entire passenger journey without having to pull out their passports or boarding passes.Biometrics has fast become a leading capability for airport self-service passenger processing opportunities around the world. As measured by number of passenger processing touchpoints in operation, SITA is the market leader with large scale production deployments across our four geographies. QualificationsWHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Writing and delivering code for features and modules, debugging existing code and modules and providing technical guidance to less experienced Developers – Employees, Contractors, Offshore Partner Resources.
  • Participate in the development of coding practices guidelines and technical processes.
  • Developing and validating estimates for technical work that will be undertaken.
  • On an as needed basis assigning and allocating defects to less experienced Developers.
  • Participating in analysis of requirements for designing new application and system features.
  • Drive technical leadership, solve industry problems, explore emerging technologies
  • Engineer solutions by gathering and analyzing user/business requirements, conferring with end users, and studying systems flow.
  • Troubleshoot issues in development, test, and production environments, including performance optimization.

WHO YOU ARE:

  • Minimum of 8+ years software engineering experience in a development capacity.
  • Profound knowledge of C# is a must.
  • Experience with Windows is a plus (Windows services, desktop applications)
  • Experience working in an Agile DevOps environment is a plus.
  • Solid knowledge of SOA: (SOAP, REST, gRPC)
  • Experience with Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines and Git is a plus
  • Understanding of networking concepts
  • Ability to coordinate multiple technical streams of work to produce a complete solution.
  • Ability to estimate and lead the estimation process for small initiatives.
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
  • BA and MA degree in computer sciences or engineering.
  • Additional experience with JavaScript is a plus.
  • Naturally curious about new technologies with an ability to learn quickly and envision how to apply in solving customer and business problems in transformative ways.
  • Motivated and assertive, with excellent communication skills.
  • Experienced in leading technical teams and driving projects forward.
