Offer DescriptionThe main goal of the project is to investigate the finite dimensional (fd) representation of a general semisimple Lie algebra, under model-theoretical point of view, starting from Herzog’s work on the Lie algebra sl(2,k). From an arbitrary ring R with an involution * , the idea is to construct a suitable extension of the ring (R, *) which is *-regular (that is, an extension where every element has a Moore-Penrose inverse according to *). A similar regular extension over the Lie algebra (with respect to a suitable involution) will be introduced and its fd representations explored.
In the setting of representation theory, the aim is to determine the Haar measure on the compact p-adic special orthogonal groups of rotations and to study their irreducible representations.
