Job description
SummaryThe Finnell Lab is looking for individuals with strong molecular and cellular biology skills, especially being conversant in the conduct and analysis of multi-omic studies. Experience interpreting genomic data and performing functional analyses of identified variants is essential. Facility with stem cells and maintaining transgenic mouse colony is also important.Various laboratory projects are focused on understanding the underlying molecular pathology that gives rise to complex human congenital malformations, including spina bifida. Projects include efforts to rescue the model systems (neurocysts, mouse embryos) using exosomes as well as developing safer, non-teratogenic anti-seizure medications.Job Duties
- Plans, directs and conducts specialized and advanced research experiments.
- Evaluates and analyzes data.
- Establishes new research protocols and procedures.
- Summarizes research findings and publish results in research journals.
- Responsible for laboratory operations.
- Supervises research staff.
Minimum Qualifications
- MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
- No experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ph.D in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
- Must have experience in single cell RNAseq experiments.
