Working full-time from our Gent Distribution Center, you will be responsible to manage the full employee life cycle of Distribution Center staff in Gent (blue and white collars), partnering with leaders at all levels to guarantee a world class employee experience from selection to departure. This includes managing Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, Payroll, Compensation & Benefits and Employee Relations for the site. This role includes a strong HR Administration component, with the selected candidate being responsible for the HR and Payroll Preparation / Administration for the location in collaboration with Belgian colleagues.Key responsibilities (to name a few):HR Administration:

  • Ensure compliance with Labor Law and local HR practices in Belgium
  • Maintain Employees files and related administrative tasks.
  • Stay updated on local changes in regulations and compliance requirements.

Payroll Administration:

  • In collaboration with colleagues and the local payroll providers, ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll for employees in the Distribution Center.
  • Collaborate with finance and HR teams to resolve payroll-related issues and administer all required control activities (e.g. SOX Controls).
  • Stay updated on local payroll regulations and compliance requirements.

Talent Acquisition:

  • Collaborate with hiring managers to understand their staffing needs and create recruitment strategies.
  • Source, screen, interview, select and onboard candidates for various positions.

Talent Management:

  • Assist in the execution of globally led talent management initiatives.
  • Contribute to the identification and development of high-potential employees at local level.
  • Support employee development and career progression through training and mentorship programs.
  • Assist in the management of Gates performance management processes.
  • Provide guidance to managers and employees on performance improvement plans.

Employee Representative Relationship Management:

  • Act as the primary liaison with works councils and union representatives.
  • Support negotiations during collective bargaining, ensuring compliance with Belgian labor laws.
  • Organize and participate in Works Council meetings, providing transparent communication on company matters and maintain records of meetings and agreements, preparing reports for management on labor relations activities
  • Coordinate and manage the social elections process to ensure fair representation and compliance with legal requirements.
  • Resolve disputes and manage grievances in collaboration with union representatives.
  • Support organizational changes by coordinating with unions and ensuring compliance with labor regulations.

Employee Relations:

  • Address employee inquiries regarding HR policies and procedures.
  • Mediate and resolve employee disputes when necessary, involving blue and white collar.
  • Ensure a positive employee experience by promoting a positive work environment.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, regulations, and company policies, including health and safety standards specific to Distribution Center operations.
  • Collaborate with HSE responsible for implementing and monitor workplace safety initiatives, conducting audits and following up on incidents.

Compensation & Benefits Administration:

  • Support in the administration of local compensation and benefits programs (i.e. Cafeteria Cars, health insurance, meal vouchers, others).
  • In collaboration with globally led activities, assist in benchmarking and analyzing market compensation trends (e.g. Salary Survey submission).
  • Ensure competitive and equitable compensation packages in accordance with Global Compensation Guidelines.

ABOUT YOU

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field (preferred).
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant HRBP experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of local HR laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills on all professional levels, especially in a multi-cultural warehouse environment.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • High sense of ethics and confidentiality.
  • Native Flemish speaker, fluent in Englis
