This role investigates new programs, improves existing ones, monitors costs, and serves as the liaison between employees and benefits carriers.This role is uniquely positioned to partner with several business units as an overall support structure for our business and employees. Duties and responsibilities carried include:

  • Conduct in-depth research on employee benefits plans and vendors to identify optimal value for the organization.
  • Design and implement innovative benefits programs, evaluating plan designs, cost implications, and employee impact.
  • Monitor administrative costs, recommend cost containment strategies, and oversee budget management for benefits programs.
  • Lead negotiations with brokers, vendors, and administrators to secure competitive plans, rates, and options.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for plan vendors and third-party administrators, ensuring seamless collaboration.
  • Manage data transfers and administration processes, including services, premiums, and compliance.
  • Analyze and refine internal benefits processes to minimize costs and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain detailed documentation for benefits administration procedures and workflows.
  • Ensure strict compliance with government regulations and oversee timely, accurate reporting and fee submissions.
  • Oversee daily benefits operations, including enrollments, terminations, COBRA, claims processing, and compliance testing.
  • Maintain accurate employee benefits files and databases while ensuring payroll records reflect changes in real-time.
  • Administer monthly billings, health/dental claims allocations, and payments for group plan fees, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Conduct audits to evaluate benefits staff performance, plan accuracy, and overall program effectiveness.
  • Analyze benefits utilization, costs, and competitive trends to provide actionable insights for leadership.
  • Prepare and assess actuarial data, cost projections, and statistical analyses for long-term benefits planning.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, complete surveys, and forecast changes to inform innovative benefits designs.
  • Develop comprehensive communication strategies and materials for orientations, open enrollment, and training sessions to enhance employee understanding and engagement.

What You Need to Be SuccessfulEducation and Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in HR or related field, but experience and/or other training/certification may be substituted for education.
  • Minimum of 4-6 years’ experience in HR and benefits administration.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP and CEBS professional designations preferred

Technical & Professional Skills

  • Strong knowledge related to data reporting and presentations.
  • Advance knowledge of excel.
  • Background in Project Management is highly beneficial.
  • Comfortable with navigating ERP and Payroll Systems (SAP & ADP highly preferred).
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple activities based on need.
  • Capable of communicating vertically in the organization.
  • Ability to manage conflict to resolution.

Requirements

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15lbs at a time
