What is the Role:

The Risk Function is an independent, second line of defence function that monitors, controls and supports risk-taking activities across AIB.  The purpose of the Risk Function is to provide advice and guidance in relation to risk while providing independent oversight and reporting on AIB’s risk profile.

The Risk Function’s main objective is to ensure AIB has a robust risk management framework and culture in place to ensure risks are taken within the risk appetite set by the Board, in support of AIB’s customer franchise and social responsibility.  

Reporting to the Head of Financial Risk Enablement, the successful candidate will support the evolution of the Risk function in the design of its data infrastructure, technology use and analytical capabilities. The role will support the delivery of our target data and technology infrastructure allowing us to adapt quickly to changing customer needs, regulatory requirements and market

Risk Technology & Transformation in AIB

In AIB the Risk Technology & Transformation team is responsible for AIB’s Risk Technology strategy, supporting the transformation of the AIB Risk team into a technology, data and analytics enabled organisation.

Key accountabilities

We’re looking for someone who would be interested in:

-Leading projects to deliver enhancements and changes to systems.
-Establishing best practice around the migration of SAS code to VIYA
-Analysing processes and data to understand how we optimise our data infrastructure and technology solutions.
-Managing change initiatives, engaging with stakeholders to ensure their requirements are delivered effectively.
-Championing and implementing new technologies and processes, particularly as they relate to model lifecycle.
-Identifying opportunities to streamline processes across the teams and oversee their implementation.
-Engaging with internal and external auditors
-Ensuring that all change is managed in line with our Change and Risk Frameworks
-Providing guidance to more junior analysts on the team through support and training

 

What you Will Bring;

-Five or more years in a similar Risk technology and data focussed role ideally in a financial services environment with a good understanding of banking products
-A bachelor’s degree (2.1 or higher), in a numerate subject area such as computer science, mathematics, applied mathematics, physics, statistics, engineering, economics.
-Excellent technology skills. Considered an expert in SAS & Teradata SQL with advanced programming ability
-Strong knowledge of the model lifecycle with experience in IRB, IFRS and CRR a distinct advantage
-Proven ability to work across multiple projects and will show determination and flexibility to deliver results
