Bioengineering – Focused on studying prosthetic comfort, including biomechanical analysis, user experience evaluation, and optimization of design parameters to enhance functionality and adaptability for amputees.2. Mechanical Engineering – Emphasizing the design and development of prosthetic components using non-conventional, sustainable materials such as bamboo and Paulownia wood. This includes material characterization, structural analysis, and innovative manufacturing techniques to improve performance and affordability.3. Generative Machine Learning for Biomechanical Design – Applying advanced AI techniques to develop customized prosthetic designs based on the specific anatomical and functional needs of individual amputees. This involves data-driven modeling, predictive optimization, and automated design workflows to enhance prosthetic personalization and performance.Applicants with expertise in one or more of these areas are encouraged to apply, especially those interested in interdisciplinary research that bridges engineering, AI, and biomechanics.Research GroupThe candidate fellow will be involved in the MMA group activities about the design, validation and prototyping of an innovative low cost and ecofriendly prosthesis. The group works using the mechanichal departement facilities. following a brief description of the departement. The phrase “Integration of Knowledge and Sciences of Understanding” perfectly embodies the Department of Mechanical, Energy, Management, and Transportation Engineering (DIME) and the way it combines research, technology dissemination and transfer, education, and training. DIME builds upon a long-standing tradition in industrial engineering, acting as a bridge between the needs of businesses and society and the opportunities brought by technological advancements.
