Our team plays an integral role by helping the business plan for the future.Take ownership of continuous improvementsThe standard test Control Engineer executes mechanical running test / FSFL Test on Gas Turbines of NOVA LT, Heavy Duty and aeroderivative families, supervisioning test rigs preparation, commissioning, and start-up phases.In particular, he/she coordinates contractors for set-up activities such as cable laying, connections of electrical equipment and instruments calibration and has the full ownership on turbine control system setup, commissioning, start-up, test execution, trouble shouting and test report emission.The standard test control engineer needs to work closely connected to MFG Eng, HSE and Quality, Engineering, Project Management teams as well as with our internal suppliers and customers such as Assembly, Packaging and Service departments.In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Supervise the whole unit installation, commissioning and start-up activities on various test benches making sure all the applicable HSE standard and IET best practice are met. Execution of MRT and performance test according to test procedure.
  • Be involved in the design testing solutions, supporting the design team and MFG TPE on the preliminary test specification definition.
  • Be promoter of initiatives for improving HSE, quality and/or lead time of test bench areas.
  • Being promoter of HSE culture with BH contractors working in test bench area.
  • Be the reference point for quality control, managing NCR / RCA / CA and lessons learnt.
  • Responsible for on time delivery of test reports and job documentation.
  • Key person during tests witnessed by customer, available to clarify doubts and explain test procedure and results.

Fuel your passionTo be successful in this role you will:

  • Hold a Technical High School Diploma with relevant experience in this field
  • Have hardware & software skills on Automation and Controls of PLC and UCS preferably on MKIVe and GE PLC’s
  • Good knowledge of field instrumentation devices applied to industrial equipment
  • Ability to use computer-based software for commissioning and troubleshooting of GT’s control devices (Fuel Metering Valves, Electric actuators, Intelligent transducers, etc.)
  • Configuration and setup knowledge of Cimplicity HMI for Gas Turbine operations
  • Good experience in Gas Turbine operations, maintenance, or site installations
  • Strong written communication skills. Able to distill and document complex technical issues clearly and simply.
  • Strong oral communication skills. Able to lead by influence.
  • Be fluent both in Italian and English
  • Availability to travel for work at customer site or other BH testing dept.
