GUH physiotherapy department provides a wide range of acute and rehabilitation services including Critical Care, Cardio Thoracic, Orthopaedic and Plastic Surgery, Respiratory, Neurology, Care of Older Persons, Rehabilitation, Oncology, Radiotherapy, Cystic Fibrosis, Paediatrics, Women’s Health, and Rheumatology.This post holder will be based on the Merlin Park site providing respiratory assessment and rehabilitation for patients with chronic respiratory disease. The service includes the provision of one to one, group interventions and supporting and/or working in MDT clinics. The post holder will work collaboratively with the Physiotherapy team, including Seniors, Clinical Specialists and staff grades and with other members of the Respiratory Team to deliver high quality care to the patient cohort. They will also be involved in student supervision, physiotherapy assistant & staff grade mentoring. They will be involved in evening & weekend on call service.Posts are assigned to the University Hospital Galway (UHG) and Merlin Park University Hospital (MPUHG) based on the location of specialities and in patient/outpatient services.Acute Respiratory In patient Care is based in UHG and longer term management of Chronic Respiratory Services including the majority of Outpatient Services are based on the MPUHG site.Initial permanent full time vacancy is for the Chronic Respiratory Services located in Unit 8 on the MPUHG site.A panel may be created from which permanent and specified purpose vacancies of full or part time duration may be filled.Application DetailsPost Specific Related InformationPlease ensure you download, save and read the Job Specification, Additional Campaign Information as well the Application Form.
