We are looking for a Senior Mental Health Practitioner to join the Devon Adult Autism and ADHD service (DAANA), to work in the Autism Pathway.This is an innovative area of practice and the work is rewarding and interesting. You do not need to be an autism specialist. We are looking for someone with experience of working with clients with a range of mental health difficulties and autistic people. We value our ability to work collaboratively and we are committed to promoting and maintaining staff wellbeing.Main duties of the jobThe post holder will contribute to the various different aspects of clinical work carried out by the DAANA service, drawing upon the particular skills that they have developed from their professional training and clinical experience.Assessment is a core part of the teams work and therefore this role, so the post-holder should have experience carrying out assessments with people who have significant communication needs and a range of different mental health difficulties. - Excellent communication skills including the ability to engage with clients experiencing a wide range of mental health problems, and communication needs
- Able to gather and assimilated large quantities of information from various sources, in order to reach a conclusion about a persons presentation, diagnosis and onward care pathway.
- Ability to be mobile across a geographical area to meet the demands of the role

- Period of post qualification experience working with a caseload of clients with a range of mental health problems including experience with autistic individuals.
- Working within a community mental health setting in either the statutory or voluntary sector.
