FTE: 1.0fte (working 37 hours per week)Salary: UH8 £45,163 to £56,921 pa depending on skills and experienceAnnual Leave: 35 days plus standard public holidays and an additional 4 days including the closure of our office between Christmas and New YearLocation: College Lane Campus, University of Hertfordshire, HatfieldThe School is supportive of applicants who may wish to job share and / or work part time.Main duties and responsibilitiesWe are looking for an experienced HCPC registered paramedic. You will be responsible for the teaching and assessment of undergraduate/postgraduate paramedic students at the University, at their placement or place of work. You will utilise the current evidence-base to underpin teaching and learning activities. You may participate in development and reviews of programmes including inter-professional developments across the School and contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate curriculum developments; including development, delivery and teaching on short courses, modules and programmes.You will contribute to the administration of the School by undertaking additional roles, such as being a module lead and joining teams involved in activities such as admissions, timetabling or pastoral support. You will also be expected to undertake and contribute to paramedic research.Skills and ExperienceYou will be an experienced practising paramedic with the HCPC with recent academic and/or clinical experience in the UK. This post would suit a paramedic with educational experience or wishing to develop a career in this area. You will have a breadth of relevant paramedic practice.Your application will demonstrate a sustained interest and knowledge of contemporary paramedic practice. It is essential that you have good oral and written communication skills and be proficient in the English language. You will demonstrate a willingness to undertake paramedic research and are able to work effectively as part of a team.Qualifications requiredThe successful applicant will hold a minimum of an honours degree (or equivalent level 6 qualification) in Paramedic Science or equivalent. You should hold a master’s degree (or equivalent level 7 qualification) in a relevant subject, be working towards such a qualification or with substantial clinical experience. It is essential that you are registered with the Health and Care Professions Council as a Paramedic.Please view the job description and person specification for a full list of the duties and essential criteria.
