We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.The shift pattern is Mon-Fri (8.30-4.30)An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within the Kershaw Unit, Gartnavel Royal Hospital. This post manages the delivery of administrative and secretarial support to the in-patient ward and our Acute Liaison Service.

  • The post holder will ensure that an effective and efficient administrative service is delivered to the multi-disciplinary team which comprises of: managerial
  • consultant psychiatrists
  • medical
  • psychology
  • nursing
  • dietician
  • and occupational therapy staff.

The post is an essential part of the support to the team. The post-holder has to deal with staff within the wider NHS organisation and those external to the organisation who have contact with the service. The post holder is required to have excellent communication skills and has an important role in projecting a positive and professional image of the service. They may have to act in the absence of direct supervision with tact and diplomacy while working within clearly defined protocol and procedures adhering to NHSGG&C policies such as Health and Safety, Data Protection and Confidentiality. The post-holder will often have to respond to conflicting demands from team members whilst managing a varied workload and will be required to use own initiative and judgement in prioritising key and urgent tasks to support activities of the multi-disciplinary team. The post holder works independently much of the time, management calls, emails and diary time will be required to deal with referral and enquires on a daily basis. They will also support the generic functions and duties of the wider administrative team.
