The Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia (ICIQ) is looking for a Postdoctoral Researcher to work in Dr. Emilio Palomares’ research group. This position will be funded by by the European Union (ERC Advanced Grant 101097684-Excited).ICIQ is one of the world’s internationally recognized leading institutions in the field of chemistry committed to solving major social and economic challenges by conducting top quality research in three main areas: Sustainable Catalysis, Renewable Energy and Health. The institute also aims at training the future generation of scientists by offering high-quality educational programs to master, PhD students and postdoctoral researchers (full details on ).ICIQ is looking for a motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to work in the group of Prof. Emilio Palomares. The successful candidate will work on the development of molecules for light harvesting and optoelectronic devices with special emphasis in hybrid light emitting diodes made with nanocrystals.Responsibilities
- Deposition of the materials (electrodes, charge transport layers, active layer) by solution processing or evaporation.
- Characterization of the morphology of the resulting layers and their electrooptical properties in solution and in solid state.
- Fabrication of devices by standard laboratory procedures and characterization of their performance (light emission, electrical response, charge kinetics).
- Writing technical reports and drafts for submission as papers about the obtained results.
- Presentations of the results in conferences, technical meetings and workshops of the project.
Requirements
- PhD in chemistry, materials science or related fields
- Demonstrable experience in the fabrication of devices is mandatory.
- Familiarity with the measurements of fluorescence decay lifetimes and other spectroscopic techniques, LIV curves and degradation studies.
- Ability to work in a team environment
Valued qualities:
- Experience in training early stage researchers.
- Experience in structural characterization and surface analysis.
- Experience in modelling electrooptical properties.
