We are open to consider different time frames during the academic year.Data Scientist – Operations Optimization & AutomationWEBB Traders is looking for a final year master student to join our Operations team. In this dynamic role, you will contribute to enhancing process automation. Your primary focus will be on gaining control over trading costs, which is essential for trading desk performance analysis, commission negotiations with exchanges, and new business case cost assessments. The results of your work will be used daily not only by the Operations department but also by Trading and Risk teams.Join us to kick-start your career in the unique trading culture of openness and boundary-free entrepreneurship!Choose your challengeTogether with your mentor from the Operations team, you’ll work on a project besides taking part in the day-to-day tasks of the team. Your work will involve analysis and developing Python tools for:Reconciling all trading costs, including exchange commissions, clearing fees, and other expensesPredicting all associated costs at the time of trade entryRetrieving data from third-party sources, such as web portalsYour roleInvestigate and identify all trading costs incurredDefine a set of rules for calculating these fees internallyCollaborate with the IT team to implement these fee rules in our Fee EngineDevelop an automated reconciliation process for feesAnalyze complex business problems and propose solutions or enhancementsProvide clear, timely updates on planning and deliveryMonitor and manage continuous process improvements, addressing outstanding issuesWho are youYou’re in your last year of mathematics, physics, econometrics, quantitative finance, data scienceYou have strong analytical skillsYou have great SQL and Python skillsYou are fluent in English, both spoken and writtenWhat we offerChallenge yourself.
