We are one of three departments in the Materials department consisting of more than 40 people, most of us polymer scientists. We develop effective solutions within ostomy care, continence care, wound care, and bowel management to help our end-users live the life they want to live.”It’s a very international, diverse team with a high degree of expertise – and even though we work on separate projects, we have a solid cooperation and a strong tradition for knowledge sharing,” says Lotte Klein, Head of Adhesive and Sensor Technologies.Focus on adhesive development in cross-organisational projects
As our new Senior Adhesive Scientist, you will develop adhesive formulations for our products. Doing so, you will work as a subject matter expert on various projects alongside project managers, laboratory technicians, product designers and other specialists as part of cross-functional teams. Your work might also include collaboration with universities and other external partners.The projects may vary in size and scope and are typically related to adhesive development for ostomy care or wound care products.Among other things, you will:

  • Identify and characterize new relevant polymer materials
  • Make polymer formulations for pressure-sensitive adhesives for skin applications
  • Be responsible for performance testing such as rheology, peel and other relevant methods
  • Document material properties and performance and communicate key findings to both scientific and non-scientific stakeholders

You thrive when you get to do what you do best – intensively utilising your expert knowledge and using your creativity to try new innovative ideas in the lab setting.Furthermore, we imagine that you:

  • Either have a PhD or a master’s degree, most likely within polymer chemistry, but it could also be within e.g. chemical engineering, material technology or organic chemistry
  • Bring solid hands-on experience with polymer chemistry including synthesis
  • Have experience with relevant material characterisation methods and performance testing
  • Understand the importance of documentation when working in a regulated industry
  • Speak and write English effortlessly

Ideally, you also have:

  • Experience within one of the following areas: hydrogels, skin adhesives, tissue adhesives, bioinspired adhesives
  • Gained experience in formulation of adhesive polymeric blends and interaction at dermal sites
  • Been familar with working in areas with ISO 13485 and medical documentation
