Job description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Sustainability Governance Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following activities:ESG Regulation:

  • Monitor, interpret, and provide strategic guidance on ESG-related regulations affecting GenAM business; serve as the point of contact for ESG matters with GenAM’s internal Compliance and Audit functions
  • Attend industry association meetings (Assogestioni, EFAMA, PRI, etc.) and update GenAM leadership on relevant developments.
  • Direct and oversee all affected departments within the ESG function or other functions at GenAM to ensure full compliance with relevant regulations

Internal ESG Governance:

  • GenAM internal regulation: monitor, draft, and update GenAM ESG (i) policies (ii) procedures and (iii) technicalinstructions , ensuring consistency with other policies and contributions from ESG stakeholders. Help the leadership team prepare materials for the Board of Directors and Committee on sustainability issues
  • Sustainability Committee Preparation: Assist the Head of Function in preparing materials and agendas for the managerial Sustainability Committee

Reporting and Regulatory Disclosures:

  • Coordinate and draft the SDFR ex-ante documentation (PCD and Website), engaging with GenAM Compliance, Investment, and client-facing functions
  • Coordinate the production and delivery of SFDR ex-post reporting with the Reporting structure, Investments, and client-facing functions

Our ideal candidate will meet the following requirements:

  • Understanding of SFDR and other sustainability-related regulations: Comprehensive knowledge of SFDR and its impact on the asset management industry, specifically regarding GenAM processes and organization to ensure timely and thorough compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Previous involvement in national and international industry association meetings (Assogestioni, EFAMA) is advantageous
  • Stakeholder Management: Effective engagement and management of relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Superior attention to detail: Ability to assess complex issues and offer precise proposals to the leadership team. Demonstrates rigor, self-discipline, and thoroughness in reviewing regulatory documents. Accountable, with a strong sense of professionalism and integrity. Highly organized, efficient and able to work to tight deadlines in a high-pressure environment
  • Team Player: Given the substantial number of internal stakeholders and the diverse environment at GenAM, the ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively in English is crucial for success in this role

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree with strong academic credentials and a minimum of 5-7 years of relevant work experience
  • Demonstrated experience in compliance or legal investment processes
  • Demonstrated experience in ESG / sustainability-related topics, ideally in a regulatory and compliance context
  • Self-starter, highly motivated and proactive, with strong verbal and written communication skills, including synthesizing research and conceptual work into actionable and presentable deliverables
  • Ability to independently manage multiple projects in a collaborative manner with multiple stakeholders through to completion in a dynamic and changing environment
  • CFA, CAIA, CESGA or other relevant certifications are preferred but not required
