In 2020, Ambienta became IIGCC member and in 2023, as one of very few asset managers, continued being a positive role model for the industry by committing to the Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi). www.ambientasgr.comYour role and responsibilitiesYou will join the cross-functional Sustainability & Strategy (S&S) team. This internal consulting group plays a crucial role in supporting the firm’s investments across all asset classes and countries to deliver above-average market returns.In this role, you will lead the analysis of industry trends and environmental issues, maintain and expand Ambienta’s proprietary network of industry experts, and propose investment ideas within your assigned industry verticals. Your recommendations will take into account the varying risk-return profiles across the different asset classes managed by Ambienta.This work is integral to collaboration with the investment teams. You will work closely with teams across asset classes—from idea generation through origination and due diligence—by delivering leading industry insights aimed at driving alpha-generating investments. You will also be responsible for ensuring that proposed investment ideas align with Ambienta’s environmental sustainability mandate, applying our proprietary methodologies which are deeply integrated into the business due diligence process.As a senior member of the team, you might be required to act as an Asset Class Coordinator of the firm, thus representing the first point of contact of a specific investment team within the firm to facilitate access to the broader knowledge within the Environmental Solution Research team.You’ll be leading junior team members and responsible of coaching and training them to foster team growth.Main Task will be: ·      Conduct analyses to build, update, and maintain Ambienta’s knowledge of how environmental trends impact selected industry verticals. Develop investment insights that identify winning business models and their competitive advantages within these evolving value chains.·      Support investment teams across the entire investment lifecycle—from idea generation to business due diligence—by leveraging Ambienta’s proprietary environmental expertise. This includes engaging with company owners and management teams, strengthening due diligence capabilities, and contributing to the development of actionable investment opportunities within thematic areas.·      Apply proprietary impact assessment methodologies across asset classes (Private and Public) in parallel with business due diligence. This entails gathering company-specific data to evaluate how each business contributes to environmental sustainability and how this translates into a long-term competitive advantage.·      Lead the preparation of reports and presentations for a range of internal and external stakeholders. Responsibilities include developing materials for new investment proposals, internal knowledge-sharing sessions, investor relations, impact reporting, and the launch of new financial products.·      Represent and promote Ambienta’s investment strategy in investor relations activities, including private client meetings and public speaking engagements.Your Skills·      Outstanding academic background from Engineering Universities or other STEM discipline·      6 to 10+ years of experience in equivalent related industry, within major professional services organization/consulting firm or within strategy/BD/M&A department of relevant industry players·      Industry-specific familiarity in industries relevant to environmental sustainability trends·      Interest in environmental topics and sustainability·      Ability to work in team and proactive attitude·      Curious and intellectually motivated·      Reliable to manage multiple streams of activities and to meet deadlines·      MBA will be considered a plus·      Languages: fluent in English and Italian; other European languages will be considered a plus.LocationMilan Office, international role.
