Skawina’s engine cooling plant is the largest and oldest Valeo site in Poland. The plant designs and manufactures the latest generation of innovative heat exchangers, i.e., engine coolers, oil coolers, air turbocharger coolers, air-conditioning and complete engine cooling systems (cooling modules), which in addition to their basic functions allow to reduce fuel consumption and emissions of harmful substances including carbon dioxide.Currently for our entity Valeo Power Division – Front Module Heat Exchanger Module in Skawina we recruit an Intellectual Property Engineer.JOB DESCRIPTIONIP protectionSelection of the most appropriate type of protection (Patent, Design, Copyright, …) and best way to proceedDefinition of the creation/inventions, preparation of the filings (drafting or subcontracting), filings, prosecutionsParticipation to the decisions regarding foreign filings,Definition of product coverage strategy with R&D/ProjectsPatent portfolio managementPreventing or defending from third parties actionsProject studies in view of identified competitor patentsAction for reorienting any project in case of infringement riskPatent clearances and IP Rights validity studies based on one or cluster of families and including risk assessmentContributions to Oppositions / Nullity suits against patents granted to third partiesStudy and follow-up of infringement claims and litigationsInfringement actions against third parties (on the basis of Valeo patents)Infringement detection and validity check of the filesOffensive pre-litigation or litigation actions, in liaison with IP, Division Managements and other involved functions and according to Group rulesSupport to other functionsReviewing of IP clauses in agreements, Proposition of modifications in agreementsIP training for R&D/R&I teamsApplying the Environment Safety and Security procedures and good practices. Know for their activities and the activities of subcontractors the potential risks and their consequences.
