Offer DescriptionRECTOR OF THE SILESIAN UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY announces a competition for the position of assistant professor in a group of research employees in Biotechnology Center in the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice, Akademicka 2A StreetJob description:
1) persons, who meet the requirements specified in the Act of 20 July 2018 – Law on Higher Education and Science (consol. text, Journal of Laws of 2024, item 1571, as amended) and the Statute of the Silesian University
of Technology of 3 June, 2019 (Legal Monitor of SUT of 2020, item 339) may enter the competition for the position of assistant professor,
2) estimated work commencement date: 1st October 2025,
3) workplace and type of contract: Biotechnology Center, full-time employment contract,
4) anticipated period of employment: from 1st October 2025 to 30th September 2026 (with the possibility of extension).Requirements:
1) doctor degree in discipline of biological science or related,
2) at least a two-month internship abroad or a six-month internship in Poland in scientific research, industrial or local government units,
3) substantive participation in a research project financed from funds other than a subsidy,
4) having a track record of publications in international scientific journals, as well as documented achievements in the promotion and popularization of science,
5) knowledge of English sufficient to communicate and conduct teaching activities.Additional requirements:
1) documented scientific achievements with a total Hirsch index HI of no less than 14 and a number of citations of no less than 600, excluding self-citations (according to the Web of Science database),
2) scientific experience in the field of molecular biology and microbiology, in particular biodegradation of chemical compounds in the environment, documented by publications in high-ranking journals from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education list,
3) knowledge of working with 3D bioprinting, documented by publications in high-ranking journals from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education list, is welcome,
4) experience in managing at least 1 research project will be an additional advantage,
5) experience in scientific cooperation with other research centers,
6) authorship or co-authorship in several publications published over several years in journals from the JCR list, each worth at least 140 points according to the MEiN list.Required documents:
