Offer DescriptionVHIR offers a vacant position for a Postdoctoral Researcher with experience in different animal models, especially in pancreatic cancer and the use of molecular imaging techniques to monitor the bio-distribution and efficacy of therapeutic compounds.The candidate will be hired within the ISCIII funded TACTIC project at the CB-DDT group. Our group has extensive experience developing and testing a range of nanomedicines in preclinical models. Within the TACTIC project, these nano-platforms will target oncological indications. The candidate’s primary responsibilities will include designing, coordinating, and executing the preclinical assays for this Project.Our group runs the Unit 20 on in vivo experimental research, also known as Functional Validation & Preclinical Research (FVPR). FVPR/U20 is a service platform offering customized assays for the production and functional validation of diagnostic or therapeutic compounds. FVPR/U20 is also part of the ICTS-Nanbiosis, a reference infrastructure in the development of biomaterials and nanomedicines. FVPR/U20 operates under the ISO9001:2015 quality management system.Please access the links below for more detailed information.Main responsibilities and duties:
- Role in the project: The candidate will be in charge of conducting and reporting the animal experimentation related to the project. In detail, pharmacokinetics, biodistribution, toxicity assays will have to be performed using healthy mice. They will also be responsible for developing novel and biologically relevant models of pancreatic cancer. In addition, the candidate will study the efficacy of the compounds. The candidate will also collaborate preparing the technical and administrative reports to the funding authorities.

- Accreditation to manipulate experimental animals
- Fluency in Catalan, Spanish and English (business level)
Experience and knowledge:Required:
- At least -3-year post-doctoral experience in:
- Animal (mice) handling, product administration, welfare monitoring and necropsies
- Use of molecular imaging techniques
- Background in cancer research
- A good publication record
Desired:
- Good writing and communication skills
- Good computer skills, basic knowledge in bioinformatics and statistical analysis
- Setting up new experimental models
- Experience in Quality Management Systems, specifically with ISO9001 standards
- We are seeking someone with a proven hands-on attitude, flexible and adaptable
- Additionally, the following personals skills are desirable:
- Teamwork
- Proactivity (ability to work independently when necessary)

Additional InformationBenefitsLabour conditions:
- Full-time position: 40h/week.
- Starting date: immediate
- Gross annual salary: 32.000 – 35.000 euros (The salary will be commensurate according to experience and qualifications in accordance with the Collective Agreement pay scale at VHIR)
- Contract: Technical and scientific activities contract linked to the project activities
