Regulatory Affairs & QA Manager

Location: Barcelona

Our client is a fast-growing specialist nutrition company seeking a Regulatory Affairs & QA Manager. Key Responsibilities:

* Establish and maintain quality and food safety procedures, standards, and specifications aligned with mandatory requirements and GMP.
* Ensure manufacturing/production processes comply with applicable standards via HACCP; monitor, collect data, and produce inspection/verification reports.
* Implement and maintain a Food Safety Management System (e.g., FSSC 22000) and oversee compliance with additional certifications.
* Manage non-conformities and corrective actions.
* Conduct internal audits and supplier audits; participate in external audits as required.
* Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure effective quality systems across production, logistics, and maintenance.
* Promote a culture of quality and food safety among employees.
* Update and manage finished product technical documentation; review and approve labeling.
* Control supplier documentation for raw materials, packaging, and externally manufactured components; oversee certificates of analysis and printed materials.
* Handle technical client inquiries and incident management (raw materials, packaging, finished products).
* Prepare documentation for regulatory submissions of finished products to relevant authorities.
* Manage preparation of declarations and other required compliance documentation.

Key Requirements:

* University degree in Food Science & Technology, Chemistry, Food Engineering, Biosciences, or related field.
* Extensive knowledge of food legislation, including regulations for dietary supplements and foods for special medical uses.
* Formal training or experience with FSSC 22000.
* Solid understanding of HACCP principles, food fraud, and food defense.
* 7-10 years of experience in regulatory and quality roles in food, supplements, pharmaceutical, or beverage laboratories.
* Experience designing finished product labeling and technical specification sheets.
* Knowledge of SAP ERP or equivalent systems.
* Strong leadership and management skills; proactive and capable of independent decision-making.
* Ability to respond effectively in high-pressure situations or crises.
* Intermediate to high-level English; additional regulatory or labeling training is a plus.

Additional Information:

* Competitive salary range: approx. EUR70,000-EUR80,000.
* Reports to the Director of Operations. Initial oversight of Regulatory & QA sub-departments, with potential future responsibility for laboratory functions.
