Project Overview:
Bechtel and Westinghouse Electric Company have partnered to deliver the first AP1000 nuclear power reactors in Poland for our customer, the Polish Entity Polskie Elektrownie Jadrowe (PEJ). Bechtel will be the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractor for the project. As the EPC, our responsibilities will include providing the design for the Turbine Island and Balance of Plant as well as the construction of the entire facility.  This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity, and we are looking for the talent that will help expand Poland’s nuclear base and build a strong and long-lasting energy future for generations to come. This position is subject to U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) regulations at 10 CFR Part 810 (Part 810), which govern the transfer of hardware, materials, and technology to support the construction and operation of commercial nuclear power plants overseas.

Job Summary:
The Indirects Temporary Buildings Manager is responsible for the planning, design coordination, installation, maintenance and demobilization of all temporary buildings and associated utilities on the project. The Indirects Temporary Buildings Manager will ensure that temporary facilities are delivered on schedule, are cost-effective, comply with safety regulations and regulatory requirements and are fully integrated with the overall construction execution plan.

Major Responsibilities:
-Develop and maintain the temporary facilities and utilities plan including layouts, phasing and capacity planning
-Manage the STRs, subcontractors & provide oversite in the field.
-Ensure Temporary facility compliance with local codes, permits and project requirements
-Analyse manpower peaks to properly size facilities (offices, change houses, lunch areas, etc.)
-Ensure temporary facilities do not interfere with permanent plant installation or construction activities.
-Schedule and oversee installation of temporary buildings, utilities and infrastructure.
-Coordinate subcontractors for modular buildings and trailers, power, water and HVAC, sanitation systems
-Temporary roads, laydown areas, and parking
-Ensure all temporary facilities are safe, functional and properly maintained throughout the project lifecycle
-Manage services including housekeeping, waste handling, potable water, sewage, and facility upkeep
-Track performance and resolve operational issues impacting productivity
-Develop and manage budgets for temporary buildings and indirect site services.
-Monitor costs to ensure facilities remain within project estimates
-Coordinate facility services with Construction supervision, Field Engineering, Supply Chain and E&H.
-Ensure subcontractor scopes clearly define temporary facility requirements
-Ensure all temporary facilities meet ES&H requirements and applicable regulations.
-Support inspections and audits for temporary facilities
-Maintain permits and approvals for temporary buildings and utilities.
-Plan and execute the removal or turnover of temporary facilities at project completion.
-Ensure proper restoration of affected areas.
-Deliver as-built documentation as required.

Education and Experience Requirements:
-Required bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field (or international equivalents) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience
-Must be physically able to conduct field inspections and participate in project walk-downs which may require the following activities: extensive walking in and around a construction site, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, using fall protection and other personal protective equipment (PPE), walking on elevated platforms, walking on uneven surfaces, and manoeuvring around very small and/or confined spaces.

Required Knowledge and Skills:
-Experience on large industrial or nuclear projects
-Familiarity with modular buildings, camp/site infrastructure and other temporary facilities common on a large industrial construction project.
-Experience with the design of temporary utilities (e.g. sewer connections, water supply, etc.)
-Experience with cost control and indirect budgets
-Knowledge of the regulatory requirements for temporary facilities.
-Knowledge of local code requirements for temporary facilities
-Extensive experience with subcontracts and subcontract management
-Ability to manage budgets for temporary buildings and indirect site services
-Previous experience with auditing and inspecting temporary facilities
