Company Overview:Our client is an innovative automation company located near Antwerp, specialising in cutting-edge automation solutions for various industries. As they continue to expand, they are seeking a skilled Freelance GL Accountant to support their growing finance team and ensure the accuracy of financial reporting.Role Overview:As a Freelance GL Accountant, you will play a key role in maintaining the integrity of the company’s financial records, handling general ledger entries, and assisting with month-end and year-end closing processes.Key Responsibilities:

• General Ledger Management:
• Maintain and reconcile the general ledger to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting principles.
• Post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
• Ensure proper allocation of costs and revenues across the organisation.
• Month-End & Year-End Close:
• Assist with the month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Ensure all transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled.
• Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring compliance with local regulations and company policies.
• Account Reconciliation:
• Perform regular bank and balance sheet account reconciliations.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in accounts.
• Financial Reporting:
• Prepare financial reports and summaries for internal and external stakeholders.
• Assist in preparing VAT returns and other statutory filings.

Skills & Experience:

• Accounting Expertise: Proven experience as a GL Accountant or similar role with a strong understanding of general accounting principles.
• ERP Systems: Experience with accounting software or ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).
• Financial Reporting: Strong knowledge of financial reporting and the ability to prepare month-end and year-end financial statements.
• Reconciliation: Proficient in performing account reconciliations and identifying discrepancies.
