We are seeking to recruit a full-time Admissions Administrator to join our vital admissions department within Academic Services.

This is a busy and highly responsible role working to provide an effective and efficient admissions service for the University.  You will have responsibility for the processing of undergraduate and postgraduate applications, making decisions consistently and fairly against pre-defined entry criteria. This post is based within our Postgraduate taught team so you will predominantly have responsibility for processing Postgraduate Taught applications. You will have extensive contact with applicants and staff at a variety of levels within the University, and external contact with other bodies such as UCAS, ECCTIS and the UKVI.

In addition to these duties, it is expected that you will assist with University applicant and open days, as well as interview and selection events as necessary. As a multi-site university, you may also be required to undertake occasional work in locations other than your usual office.  Finally, willingness to work flexibly to meet the fluctuating demands of the admissions cycle is important.

To be successful, you should have:

  • The ability to be flexible and proactive to provide a high level of customer service to applicants and staff
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Work in an administrative and/or customer-facing environment
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to work quickly and accurately
  • Good IT skills, including full working knowledge of MS Office

Experience of working large databases and software platforms would be beneficial, and an understanding of University admissions processes would also be a benefit, but by no means essential.

Whilst this role is full-time (37 hours per week), we welcome applications from candidates seeking to job share, and the role is also eligible for agile working, meaning you could work from home for part of the week, to be arranged with your manager and after your initial training.

For an informal discussion to find out more about these roles please contact Tori Grant at [email protected]

Further details:

The University is committed to an inclusive environment which embraces equality and diversity in our working, learning, research and teaching environment. We particularly encourage male applicants and all those from Minority Ethnic backgrounds. The university is underrepresented by these groups at this job grade.

For the vast majority of our roles, we operate an agile working system with time split between working on campus and at the employee’s home. It is the University’s expectation that home working will take place within the UK.
