HMP Belmarsh is a male, maximum security prison that has a capacity for 910 inmates. Healthcare at HMP Belmarsh includes, Dentists, Primary Care, Mental Health, Substance abuse and Pharmacy.Hours Primarily Mon – Fri 0800 – 1600 for SMS clinics, potentially some lates (1400-2200) for reception coverSalaryThis position is full time, youll receive an annual salary up to £68,680 per annum FTE – depending on experience.How will we support you?Bespoke induction, including our Introducing Health in Justice training courseCompetency frameworkRegional and national career development opportunitiesOur bespoke Learning Management System to address your learning needsSupport from the wider teamCandidates are required to have a Legal right to work in the UK and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checksMain duties of the jobAs a Advanced Clinical Practitioner / Non Medical Prescriber, your responsibilities will vary. You will

  • Provide clinical leadership for the mental health team.
  • This multi-disciplinary team is made up of a variety of registered and non-registered professionals including; mental health, and substance misuse practitioners.
  • Act as a role model ensuring professional appearance and maintaining professional standards at all times.
  • Supporting senior clinicians on site you will be part of the daily leadership team, providing clinical input for all patients.
  • As a clinical expert in your field, you will work with the team to ensure; patient safety, the management of complex cases and ensure the most up to date treatment methodology is applied to patient care.

  • Registered Nurse Adult, Mental Health with current NMC registration or Registered Paramedic with current HCPC registration
  • Independent/supplementary prescriber qualification
  • MSc in Advanced Practice
  • Experience working autonomously as an advanced clinical practitioner following best practice guidance and identifying risk to patients.
