About the Role:
Are you passionate about supporting children and young people to lead crime-free lives? We’re looking for a dedicated Advanced Youth Offending Service Officer to join our team. This role involves managing a caseload of youth justice cases, delivering effective interventions, and working collaboratively to achieve positive outcomes for children and young people.Key Responsibilities:Manage a caseload of youth justice cases, including out-of-court disposals and statutory court orders, adhering to National Standards and the HMIP Inspection Framework.
Provide support and interventions using the Child First, Offender Second approach to help children and young people complete their orders and live crime-free lives.
Use AssetPlus as an assessment and planning tool, with a focus on trauma-informed practice, desistance factors, and building foundations for positive change.
Collaborate with children, young people, families, and partner agencies to deliver effective, evidence-based interventions that reduce offending and re-offending risks.
Prepare high-quality Pre-Sentence Reports, Stand-Down Reports for Court, and Panel Reports for Referral Order Panels or other forums.
Represent the Youth Justice Team at court hearings and effectively present case information.
Deliver interventions that ensure the safety of children and young people while protecting others.
Promote equality, diversity, and anti-discriminatory practices throughout all areas of work.
Requirements
Qualifications: Degree or equivalent qualification in Social Work, with active Social Work England registration.
Experience: Proven experience in youth justice or a related field, with a solid understanding of trauma-informed practice and case management.
Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the National Standards, HMIP Inspection Framework, and the principles of effective youth justice practice.
