UCL’s Department of Computer Science (CS) is a top-ranked Computer Science Department in the UK. In the 2021 Research Excellence Framework (REF) evaluation, UCL Computer Science was ranked second in the UK for research power and first in England. This post is based within the Department of Computer Science’s Centre for Artificial Intelligence (AI Centre). The Centre provides research, education, and expertise to create next generation AI technologies for the benefit of science, society and industry. The post-holder will provide a first point of contact for the Center and play a key role in the co-ordination of the Centre. They will work in collaboration with Director and others to support and expand on the work of the Centre. The Centre Manager will be responsible for the Centre’s day-to-day operations, working closely with specialist teams in the Department, such as those responsible for research finance, industry engagement, teaching and events and communications. The appointee will develop and manage Center wide resources to ensure systems and processes are fit for purpose, and that UCL, Faculty and Departmental policies and strategies are implemented at all times. They will manage the operationalisation of AI Centre research-and-development strategy. They will manage a range of internal and external relationships.

The successful candidate should have substantial relevant experience or have equivalent qualifications, a proven track record in administration and management within a HE or large, complex organisations, an understanding the value of equality, diversity and inclusivity initiatives, and the ability to effectively organise and prioritise a varied and demanding workload, using methodical approaches and paying close attention to detail. Candidates with experience and knowledge of the Artificial Intelligence sector of the UK preferred. Please see the attached Job Description for further details
