This is a hybrid role with a requirement of working from the office two days a week. Currently this is on Tuesday and Wednesday but will be changing to three days a week in June 2025. The position can be filled at either our location in The Woodlands, TX or our Corporate Headquarters in New Orleans, LA. Relocation assistance is available for this posting
Job Summary/Purpose
As a vital member of the AI Team, the Software Engineer, Analyst II is tasked with developing and deploying software products that integrate software engineering, data analytics and digital tools. These products are designed to provide actionable insights and recommendations, supporting business leaders in making informed tactical and strategic decisions.
The software engineer will be an integral part of one or more product teams, tasked with developing comprehensive solutions that adhere to products specifications. This role involves collaboration with a diverse team including a product designer, data engineer, data scientist, business subject matter experts, and a product owner. The product designs the team works on will vary according to specific business cases and may require the engineer a full range of full-stack development skills.
The software engineer must be accustomed to work in a product team environment to deliver solutions and understands the unique differences between product design and software engineering. Products will be delivered leveraging agile principles, moving quickly to create a minimal viable product (MVP), testing with customers throughout the process, and continually improving and adding features.
Job Duties/Responsibilities

-Design, develop, and implement software solutions on system design specifications.
-Refine and optimize data and machine learning algorithms into production environments.
-Ensure scalability, efficiency, and maintainability of the codebase.
-Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.

-Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality.
-Document software development and monitor systems to ensure they meet both user needs and business goals.
-Stay updated on new technologies and best practices in software engineering.
Minimum Requirements
Minimum education required of the position.
A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field
Minimum experience required of the position.
2-4 years’ experience in software engineering, software development, or related field.
Preferred experience of the position

-Experience working with cloud-based platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
-2+ years’ experience working in the electric or gas utility sector.
