Job Title: Air Quality Technician

A leading environmental consultancy is seeking an experienced Air Quality Technician to join its expanding Birmingham team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious professional to step into a leadership position, managing project delivery, mentoring junior staff, and overseeing a variety of air quality, industrial emissions, and regulatory compliance projects across the UK.

As an Air Quality Technician, you’ll play a hands-on and strategic role in delivering stack emissions monitoring and air quality compliance services. You’ll lead a small, growing team of consultants and technicians, ensuring projects meet the highest technical and regulatory standards. Candidates with MCERTS Level 2 (TE1 or TE2) certification and experience in industrial stack testing are strongly encouraged .

Duties for the role of Air Quality Technician include:

Managing and mentoring a team of air quality consultants and technicians

Leading stack emissions monitoring and industrial compliance projects
*

Delivering and reviewing technical reports to a high standard
*

Building and maintaining client relationships across industrial sectors
*

Ensuring all work complies with MCERTS TE1/TE2 and environmental regulations

Requirements:

Minimum 5 years’ experience in air quality consultancy or stack testing
*

MCERTS Level 2 (TE1 or TE2) qualification essential
*

Strong understanding of industrial emissions and regulatory frameworks
*

Degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, or related discipline
*

Proven leadership and client management experience
*

Full UK driving licence
