Job Description:
Airbus R&T in the wing perimeter has focused a lot in the past years on the structural and industrial aspects, resulting in the Wing of Tomorrow concepts and ground prototypes.
eXtra performance WING, an Airbus UpNext demonstrator, is using disruptive wing technologies focusing on wing performance and need acceleration or feasibility demonstration. Our purpose is to fly a remote controlled business jet, flying subsonic, at classical Airbus aircraft altitudes, with a scaled wing heavily instrumented.
The eXtra Performance Wing Handling Qualities engineer (M/F) position is within Airbus UpNext and it’s a fixed term mission till September 2025.
Missions
- To produce Integrated Flight Dynamics Models (pre-flight and flight adjusted), Simulation Tools and Frameworks for Handling Quality
- Validation data and Software packages for Training Simulators and their qualification
Your boarding pass
What you bring:
- Degree in aeronautical engineering / mechanical engineering (or equivalent)
- Flight Dynamics, Test and/or Flight Physics knowledge
- High interest in digitalisation (big data, etc.) would be a plus
- Experience in organizing and leading all flight dynamic simulation activities required to answer program’ needs
- Experience in providing validation tests for training simulators and supporting data-package activities
- Research and Technology activities and develop methods and tools in line with the engineering strategy to improve the vehicle simulation.

The responsibilities and the technical scope of the job might evolve according to the agile working environment of the project, so being flexible is important.
You will work very closely cross-functionally with the Airbus Teams, as well as external stakeholders. You have great collaborative skills, with a good understanding of interface management and practical problem solving.
