Location: Newport, South Wales
Start Date: ASAP
Pay: From £13.75 per hour
Hours: Monday to Friday | 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM

Teaching Personnel is hiring a dedicated ALN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive partner school in Newport. This full-time role is based in a specialist Learning Resource Base (LRB) class that supports pupils with severe Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and behavioural challenges.Key Responsibilities:Support a small class of pupils with ALN, focusing on emotional and academic development.Provide 1:1 and group support for students with severe ASD and behavioural needs.Build strong, trusting relationships with students, staff, and parents.Create a nurturing, inclusive classroom environment that promotes safety and well-being.Follow individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies.Uphold school safeguarding and child protection policies.What We’re Looking For:Resilient, patient, and compassionate individuals with a genuine interest in SEN/ALN education.Experience working with children with special educational needs is preferred but not essential.Willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic classroom environment.Essential Requirements:EWC Registration (Education Workforce Council)Enhanced Child-Only DBS (on the Update Service)
