If so, we invite you to join our dynamic team as a Development Officer working to advance the University’s mission of raising philanthropic income.   

You will join at an exciting time as we grow our team and implement a new strategy to accelerate our fundraising and alumni engagement capabilities. Your work will make a significant impact on the lives of our students and university community.

The Role

As a Development Officer, you will be at the heart of our efforts to strengthen relationships with alumni, donors, and friends of the university. You will manage and build a portfolio of mid-value donor prospects and solicit donations to support fundraising priorities. In addition, you’ll be responsible for creating and submitting high quality funding bids to trusts and foundations.

We are looking for someone with experience working in a fundraising team in either the education or charitable sector. 

This role will suit someone who wants to grow their career within a dynamic and supportive environment. 

The Person

  • Strong influencing and relationship building skills and an excellent and proficient communicator. 
  • A high-achiever, able to successfully meet targets.
  • A strategic thinker with an ability to identify new opportunities for developing income streams.
  • Able to create compelling and persuasive funding submissions and proposals.   
  • A strong team player. 
  • Confidence, sensitivity, and awareness to deal with high-profile individuals and make requests for financial support.    
  • A problem solver, able to work on own initiative. 
  • Comfortable working to tight deadlines and flexible to work outside office hours on occasion, when the need arises.
  • Passionate about education and committed to the university’s mission.
