We are recruiting an Alumni Engagement Manager to embed alumni volunteering and engagement across the Business School strategy and operations. This is an exciting time to join a fast growing and ambitious team and a unique opportunity to work across two interesting and dynamic areas at the University of Bristol – the Global Engagement Division and the Business School.

The role holder will have a high level of autonomy and leadership, whilst working in a collegiate environment with marketing and international recruitment and partnership professionals. The role holder will also manage an assistant who will provide administrative and operational support, enabling an ambitious portfolio of engagement

Working in line with the School strategic plan, you will find opportunities to embed alumni volunteering and engagement across a range of key areas including curriculum and assessment design, student recruitment, employability, reputation, and recent graduate engagement and community. This might lead to you create
bespoke events, but also find ways to deepen involvement in existing programming.

You’ll work in partnership with stakeholders to facilitate lasting and meaningful connections between alumni and the university. These stakeholders include academic and professional services staff, student societies, and colleagues working towards our philanthropic goals. Most importantly, you will build deep relationships with alumni from a broad range of backgrounds whose interests align with the Business School.

You’ll become an expert in both the needs and ambitions of the University of Bristol Business School and the broader University. You’ll be trying new and innovative activities, so will be committed to evaluating and demonstrating the impact of this work and continuous improvement

The successful candidate will have proven relationship management experience. You will have excellent organizational and management skills, capable of working across a wide and diverse range of activities.

You’ll be a creative thinker, seeing opportunities to develop connections between people and activities.

You will have experience of successfully delivering supporter engagement programmes in a Higher Education

setting or leading national organisation, both in the UK and internationally.

You will have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with
a wide range of people.

You will have an enthusiasm for the impact of volunteering, philanthropic giving and a belief in the importance of universities to society. You’ll be motivated by a team culture that is optimistic, collaborative, and highly professional, where individual and team success is recognised in equal measure
