Join Athora Belgium as an Analyst-Developer on an open-ended contract.Within our IT department, dedicated to supporting Athora through optimal incident management and project execution, we are seeking an Analyst-Developer. This role is crucial for analyzing and developing the necessary solutions for the maintenance and enhancement of our application systems.The team consists of 8 colleagues who are eager to welcome you!Your responsibilitiesAs an Analyst-Developer, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Analyzing business requests and incidents reported to the service desk related to our core business program.
  • Defining necessary developments in our IAA mainframe program to achieve results and resolve incidents.
  • Testing and debugging code to ensure software quality.
  • Briefing external developers for larger development tasks to ensure alignment with project goals.
  • Participating in the drafting of test scenarios with the testing team while being responsible for the execution of tests.
  • Monitoring test execution in collaboration with the functional analyst.
  • Ensuring program quality and optimizing performance.
  • Documenting analyses with the functional analyst to maintain code and process documentation for future maintenance.

Your profile

  • You hold a bachelor’s degree in IT, mathematics, or a related field, or possess equivalent experience.
  • You have a minimum of 5 years of experience in IT solutions, preferably in life insurance.
  • You are fluent in French or Dutch, with a good command of the other national language, and can work comfortably in English.
  • You have experience in a mainframe environment, ideally with IBM 3090.
  • You are skilled in using various debugging tools and methods.
  • You possess strong knowledge of COBOL programming.
  • You are organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing priorities under tight deadlines.
  • You can learn quickly and adapt in a dynamic environment.
  • You have an analytical mindset and are solution-oriented.
  • You are proactive and can communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
  • You value teamwork and can work both on-site and remotely, including with offshore developers.
  • You enjoy challenges and are autonomous in your work.
  • You are dynamic and open-minded.
