This is an exciting opportunity to join the Brookes EDI Team as we prepare to launch our new EDI Strategy 2023-28. This new and varied role will lead the development and implementation of a programme of work in support of Oxford Brookes University’s Anti-Harassment and Discrimination Policy and contribute to the team’s wider work to implement the EDI Strategy.

You will have specialist expertise in anti-harassment and discrimination, a solid grounding in equality, diversity and inclusion issues and a proven track record of implementing change initiatives. You will take a lead role in strengthening measures to ensure that Brookes responds effectively to instances of harassment and discrimination, and takes steps to prevent harassment and discrimination from occurring. You will also manage wider EDI initiatives, to be determined according to your experience and thematic expertise. You will have excellent interpersonal and written communications skills, the ability to influence others, and be passionate about using your experience to promote an inclusive, open and supportive culture at Brookes.

The post sits within the People Directorate and reports to the EDI Director. It has specific responsibility for leading anti-harassment and discrimination work in relation to staff but will also work University-wide to influence and achieve change, working in collaboration with relevant student-facing teams and with Faculties and Directorates.
