About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join a strategically important team. Your contribution to the university’s vision of transforming people, societies and places through outstanding graduate outcomes and equipping business and communities with the skills for the future, will be to support the central Career Connect team to achieve two ambitious KPIs and deliver over 75% graduate outcomes and 20% graduate retention in the region by 2027.

Main Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our busy but friendly team, to increase and deliver impactful employer engagement activities, employability events and marketing campaigns as part of the central Career Connect team.  You will positively impact on graduate and student employability through building lasting and meaningful relationships with local and national employers who will participate in our careers events, placements and graduate recruitment activities.

Taking the lead on targeted business development activities and employability campaigns, you will create an annual programme of employer-led activities to position Staffordshire University as a university of choice for local and national talent recruitment. A flexible approach will be needed to achieve ambitious graduate and placement targets through talent matching.

An important part of this role is working flexibly with colleagues in Career Connect and the Schools to increase graduate opportunities, placement roles and recruitment outputs from our students and graduates. As the role holder you will negotiate and increase employer-led activities in the curriculum to increase business challenges, live briefs and other embedded projects to expose our students to real project work.

Educated to degree level or equivalent, you will need to enjoy working under pressure, achieving targets and creative problem solving. With an outgoing personality, you will have experience building relationships with external stakeholders, with a particular emphasis on motivating to achieve high performance standards. It is essential that you demonstrate a flexible and collaborative approach, as is the ability to manage unpredictability.
